Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer consultations before booking?

Absolutely! I do offer free 15 minute consultations. If you are interested in scheduling a consultation before booking our first session, please don't hesitate to reach out. We can conduct our consultation by phone or virtually.

Do you direct bill insurance companies?

I am able to direct bill Blue Cross. If you are with another insurance provider, I will provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit into your insurance provider for reimbursement.

*Please remember to check with your insurance provider to see if they cover services with a Registered Counselling Therapist or Certified Canadian Counsellor.*

What is your cancellation policy?

I do require 24 hours notice for any cancellations. If you cancel within the 24 hour period before your session or you do not show for your session, you will be charged the full session fee.

Safe Space Counselling operates out of Rise Counselling Collective

Safe Space Counselling is located in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. Recognizing the land demonstrates gratitude, respect and appreciation to those who have lived on the land for generations and continue to do so, as well as honors the Indigenous people who have a long-standing relationship with the land.

People of African descent have shared these lands, in what is now called Nova Scotia, for more than 400 years; over 50 strong and resourceful African Nova Scotian communities exist here today.
